History
Founded in 1975, we’ve been among the pioneers of film lamination in Italy, definitely the first in web lamination in 1988.
We soon realized that film lamination was more than just protecting a printed sheet, and we started calling it a Finishing, a set of special effects that make the graphic product more appealing.
From this moment on, our commitment has been to improve machinery and technology, trying to offer our clients more and different services to enrich their products.
Between 1990 and 2010 we introduced new equipment to make further kinds of Finishing, like UV coating, screen printing, hot stamping and embossing/debossing.
We have improved our production capability in all the divisions, with bigger size machines.
To complete the picture, we took digital cutting equipment, to give a mock-up service as well.
Nowadays, Italbond under the management of owner Fausto Vicinanza, thanks to his team of dedicated professionals that are seriously committed, passionate and experienced has seen the Company grow to a quality print finisher.

HOT FOIL STAMPING

It’s the technique that mostly embodies the idea of enrichment of a printed product. At the beginning, it was the hand-made decoration of paper with gold foil. Today it is an industrial process, very popular but still very appealing and value-adding. The variety of foils now available is much wider than ever before, ranging from classic gold and silver in many different nuances, arriving to metallic and pigment colours and holographic patterns to play with for creating graphic designs.

FILM LAMINATING REEL TO SHEET

Our web-fed lamination machine is one of the most efficient for high production speed and quality results. Our main web lamination clients are paper mills and big clients. It is a water-based adhesive lamination, that assures high quality results. After lamination the paper or board can be reeled or cut into sheets. Most of our production is lamination with metallic films, like silver, gold and holographic patterns. All these films are of course overprintable and are an excellent base for luxury packaging. We are certified to laminate food packaging.

UV COATING

It’s the technique that mostly embodies the idea of enrichment of a printed product. At the beginning, it was the hand-made decoration of paper with gold foil. Today it is an industrial process, very popular but still very appealing and value-adding. The variety of foils now available is much wider than ever before, ranging from classic gold and silver in many different nuances, arriving to metallic and pigment colours and holographic patterns to play with for creating graphic designs.

SCREEN PRINTING

It is the most flexible and creative printing technique, and gives you the opportunity to use a wide range of inks , ranging from gloss, matt and soft touch UV varnish arriving to glitter, scratch-off, fragrances, stone effect and Braille effect. Exploring the limits is an everyday practice, the challenge is to test whatever can be pressed into the screenprinting mesh. The most popular screen printing effect is the spot UV varnishing, a powerful technique to highlight specific areas or design elements.

FILM LAMINATING

Laminating means that a plastic film bonds to a printed sheet using heat and pressure. It can be applied to improve durability while providing great protection from abrasion, chemicals and fingerprints, but it is usually done to enhance a product’s appearance. High gloss and matt are the most common types of lamination used today, but many different effects exist, like soft touch, biodegradable, linen, leather, scuff resistant, metallic, holographic and aperature. A special kind of lamination involves using a silver film over an unprinted sheet. Four-colour printing over brilliant silver can be used with a covering white ink to give a spot metal effect.

EMBOSSING

It’s an unusual kind of printing, because it works with pressure instead of colours, giving a tactile effect as well as a visual one. To make the most of this technique you need to start from a printing file suited to this process and the paper has to be soft and flexible enough to be shaped without breaking. The embossing is usually the last finishing touch and the one which matches with the others best.

FOOD PACKAGING

This is our new Business Unit. From a decades of experience on paper and cardboard lamination, we have decided to be also into food packaging field. Thanks to new technical expertise and a well known attention for the quality, Italbond aims to become a valid partner also for the Producers of food packaging. The paper may be FSC certified or recycled and the film used to laminate it may be conventional, compostable, from Post Consumer Recycled resins (PCR) or with specific functions (barrier effect or heat sealability). We can help the Customer to design packaging suitable to be recycled into paper stream and certified under ATICELCA 501 method (which indicates the level of recyclability of a specific paper based packaging). All our products can be tested for specific applications such as packaging for frozen food, heating into microwaves or cooking into traditional oven.
